The best gifts are discovered
Rooted In Midland
David and Julia opened Serendipity Road on August 23rd, 2017 with a simple but powerful vision: create a space that supports community, celebrates creativity with each unique person, and brings people together through meaningful gifts and local craftsmanship.
Located in the heart of downtown Midland, Serendipity Road was built around the idea that shopping should feel personal again. Not rushed. Not transactional. But inspiring, memorable, and full of discovery.
What started as a passion for supporting small businesses quickly grew into a boutique experience centered around Michigan makers, artisans, and thoughtfully curated finds. Today, Serendipity Road proudly brings together products from more than 75 Michigan creators, helping support independent businesses while contributing to the continued growth of downtown Midland and communities throughout the state.
Every corner of the store is intentionally designed to spark curiosity and joy, from handcrafted goods and seasonal collections to home décor, specialty foods, custom gift boxes, and unexpected treasures that instantly make you think of someone dear to you.
More than a boutique, Serendipity Road has become a destination for locals and visitors looking for something different from mass-produced retail. We built this store with family in mind, to foster a place filled with creativity, conversation, changing seasonal experiences, and gifts that carry a story with them.
Because sometimes the best things aren’t the ones you planned to find. They’re the ones you discover along the way.
Shop Local. Support Local.
Celebrating Michigan Makers
Supporting local is a part of who we are. Serendipity Road partners with more than 75 Michigan makers and independent artisans to bring handcrafted, locally created products into the heart of downtown Midland.
By featuring Michigan-made goods throughout the store, we help connect our community with talented creators across the state while giving customers gifts and products that feel more personal than anything mass-produced.
Because the best things aren’t made for everyone. We believe they're made by someone.
Curated Gift Boxes for Every Occasion
Not every person fits in the same box, why should the gift?!
From seasonal favorites to custom celebrations, Serendipity Road creates beautifully assembled gift boxes filled with handpicked finds, Michigan-made products, and meaningful details.
Each collection changes throughout the year, giving customers a fresh way to gift something thoughtful, personal, and impossible to replicate with a last-minute online order.
